Humans of Employability Solutions

It has been a huge privilege to have been invited by Employability Solutions (ES) to create a set of portraits featuring students past & present as well as staff and supporters who have all shared their stories about the impact that ES have had on their lives.

This project has taken over 12 months to deliver and has been a wonderful voyage through the individual and shared experiences of everyone invovled - I wrote about this previously HERE.

ES held a huge party to celebrate their 10th birthday recently and the exhibition was officially shared with the world! It was wonderful to see the images on display and for people to have chance to engage with the stories. ES do such amazing work that goes way beyond providing education and is focussed on building community, creating opportunities for people to come together and make a difference.

I am so grateful to Claire Cook one of the founders of ES for inviting me to work alongside the amazing team at ES not just on this project but on the delivery side of their business too, running participatory photography activities as part of their curriculum - to be invovled in helping them celebrate a decade of driving change in the lives of young people and the wider community too has been a huge honour.

The exhibition included some key facts and figures drawn from the last 10 years of working with young people and communities - it was really mindblowing to see this information, especially when taken alongside the personal stories and experiences of people who had been invovled it demonstrated the broad scope of ES as an organisation and the difference that they have created.

20 portraits featuring former students, current staff and supporters - alongside their photographs we also shared a few words each person had written describing their experiences at ES and their reflections on the impact it had made on their life.

This isn’t the end for the Humans of ES exhibition, far from it. In fact it’s just the beginning - you can follow #HumansofES on instagram to see more photographs and stories and there are also plans to display the photographs at more venues in Liverpool so watch this space for updates!
