Message In A Bottle - Lowerhouses

Over the past few months, we’ve been working with children from Lowerhouses Primary School in Huddersfield and a group of older adults from the local community. Together, they took part in creative workshops where they explored photography, poetry, and collage.

The aim of the project, Message in a Bottle, was to bring people from different generations together to share stories, memories, hopes, and dreams.

Everyone created their own "message in a bottle" filled with artwork, poems, photos, and personal thoughts. Some were funny, some were thoughtful – all of them were meaningful.

We held a special celebration event at the school for families and classmates. The children performed their poetry, and everyone had a chance to see the work created. It was a lovely event, full of smiles and moments of connection.

We shared Message in a Bottle on 15th May at the Lawrence Batley Theatre as part of the Huddersfield Literature Festival. Including a short film and a poetry performance by the adults and children.
